DIARYHost Parent Training (for new host parents and those wanting to host at Christmas) Thursday 29th October EVENTSFoster Care Teddy Bear’s Picnic The afternoon of 12th September, was a great celebration of foster families. Bringing together almost twenty children and their foster parents, the event included jumping castles, candyfloss and popcorn machine, face painting, teddy bears and a great picnic! Arise is hoping to run similar events throughout the year, encouraging foster families they are not alone and rejoicing in the knowledge that these children are safe, special and dearly loved. Thank you to our three wonderful volunteers from Commonground Church, Kelly, Kathy and Nicole for all the work that they did in raising sponsorship for the event and the hours of organizing. We are truly grateful. Junior Club Outing Junior Youth are going on camp to Baines Kloof in November for a weekend. The theme is “Who am I, why am I here and where am I going to”. A wonderful opportunity for these children from the Heideveld community have fun together and to experience the beauty of our Creator as well as share and learn from God’s Word. Soccer Clinic Children from the age of 6-12 years had great fun at a two day soccer clinic held in June at Heideveld church. Not only were they taught skills on how to kick a soccer ball but also took time to learn from God’s Word. At the end of the soccer clinic games were played including the leaders and fun was had by all. Thanks go to Upward Sport for their support. Our thanks also to the leaders who made a great success of the two days. |
