Arise is a gospel-centred ministry to vulnerable children in Cape Town. Now a registered Non-Profit Organisation, Arise is affilitated to the Church of England in South Africa with outreaches in Heideveld and amongst children of homeless adults in the Claremont area. Our model of work is strongly community orientated with a focus on interventions aimed at uplifting and empowering families.

Unlike other parts of South Africa, our cases are not made up of thousands of orphans. Rather our children might find themselves in crisis because of abuse, severe neglect, abandonment, homelessness, parents imprisonment, parents who are sick and unable to find employment or children on drugs. It is to these children that Arise seeks to make Christ known and works to ensure their long-term safety, stability and success.

An intrinsic part of this ministry, is the recruiting, training and supporting of Christian foster parents, safety parents and host parents. Not only is this addressing a massive need within our city, but it provide great opportunities for the church to share God’s love for children.

It is out AGM on 29th September 2011  – please view the diary page for full details.

We continue to grow and expand as a team at Arise and therefore we find ourselves in a position to recruit a new full-time Director to provide servant-hearted leadership to Arise.  Click here to download the Director Job Description.
Applications close 15 October 2011.
